The National Open Access Monitor Survey: Organisational Identity is now open

This survey will close on 31st October 2023.

This survey is for Research Performing Organisations (RPOs), Research Funding Organisations (RFOs) and Publisher stakeholders of the National Open Access Monitor. 

The purpose of this survey is to empower stakeholders to self-identify how their entities will be represented in the National Open Access Monitor.

This stakeholder survey is designed to:

  • compile a complete list of Irish RPOs and RFOs to be represented by the Monitor RPO and RFO dashboards
  • ensure each organisation/entity is categorised correctly as RPO or RFO (or both), as applicable
  • identify if an RPO/RFO is publicly-funded
  • identify formally affiliated RPO-RPO and RFO-RFO organisations/entities
  • capture the persistent identifiers for RPOs, RFOs and Publishers, to enable OpenAIRE to query the OpenAIRE graph using those PIDs and identify relevant research outputs for the Monitor
  • capture the name, system name and URL of RPOs institutional repositories and/or CRIS, to assist OpenAIRE in identifying existing and potential integration points for optional supplementation of 
    the OpenAIRE Graph metadata with data from RPO systems.

The survey expects one response from each stakeholder entity. If multiple responses are obtained and inconsistencies occur, the Project Manager will follow up directly with respondents to clarify. This survey also expects responses from each entity in the case of formally affiliated organisations/entities. Only where all entities agree there is a formal relationship in place that should be reflected in the Monitor will the link be implemented. To enable this verification process, please forward this survey to the relevant staff within other entities for them to complete.

Important: in order to comply with the Research Ethics requirements for the project, participants must complete a consent form (available here) and return it to catherine.ferris@mu.ie before completing the survey.

In this webinar, Dr Catherine Ferris (National Open Access Monitor Project Manager) will go step-by-step through the survey, explaining each question and the expected outcome of the survey. There will also be time for Q&A at the end of the webinar. This webinar will be recorded and shared publicly afterwards.
