  2. The ability to make their articles accepted for publication in Royal Society journals, open access without author-facing article processing charges (APCs).

Royal Society’s Read and Publish agreement aims to provide authors with straightforward and seamless publishing, in addition to providing read access to their journals.

Eligible authors

  • Current members of the faculty, students and other staff at the Member Institution​​​​. Eligible Authors must be current staff or students at the Member Institution at the Editorial Acceptance Date. The corresponding author must ensure their correct affiliation details are known to the publisher at this time. 
  • Requests to publish OA under the agreement are subject to approval by participating members.

Eligible article types:

All article types are included in this agreement, except Letters to the Editor, Corrections, Retractions.
