OA quota per year: a limited annual publishing fund *projected* to cover all articles from members’ eligible authors:

  • 2021: ~535 articles.
  • 2022:
    • up to 660 articles in Wiley’s hybrid journals, which is equivalent to over 100% of the projected hybrid OA output in prior years.
    • A separate fund was available for articles accepted for publication in Wiley’s fully-OA journals
  • 2023:
    • 670 hybrid journal articles.
    • A separate fund was available for articles accepted for publication in Wiley’s fully-OA journals
  • 2024:
    • 680 hybrid journal articles. We project that this allocation will last for the full year (ie, it will cover all eligible articles where the author chooses OA).
    • A separate fund is available for articles accepted for publication in Wiley’s fully-OA journals. This fund will be available to authors submitting manuscripts from 1 Jan 2024. Funding is allocated to articles based on the submission date, i.e. for an article to be eligible, it must be submitted on a date between January and December 2024. Fees for any rejected/withdrawn manuscripts will be returned to the fund. As of 16 Apr 2024, we project that this limited fund will run out around Jun 2024. After this date, authors will not be offered IReL-funded OA on submission.
