National OA Monitor: A Year in Review

It has been an eventful year for the National Open Access Monitor Ireland which was launched last April, and followed by extensive information, training and support sessions organised by OpenAIRE. We are excited to let you know that OpenAIRE will host a series of webinars titled “Open Insight Sessions: One Year with the Irish Monitor”, celebrating reaching the first anniversary of the National Open Access Monitor.

The Open Insight Sessions series is designed to deepen community engagement with the Irish Monitor, strengthen institutional adoption, and gather valuable user feedback. Through five monthly sessions, we’ll review achievements, address data quality, explore collaborative potential, and create opportunities for institutions to share their experiences. These sessions aim to build a robust, sustainable foundation for the Monitor.

Each session begins with a short webinar (20-minute presentation and 10-minute Q&A), followed by a 30-minute interactive segment where attendees can participate in hands-on activities and discussions. Presentations and recordings from each session will be posted on Zenodo and subsequently shared on the Irish Monitor engagement and training page.

The first session, “A Year in Review & OpenOrg Sprint”, will be a review of the milestones achieved in year 1 of the Monitor and a short introductory demonstration for new users (“Monitor Essentials”). This will be held on the 12th December at 12:00 pm and you can register HERE.

More events are planned for the new year.  You can find further details about them and register on the IReL website: https://irel.ie/oamonitor/

We look forward to seeing you all at these events soon and thank you for your support and engagement with the National Open Access Monitor.
