Agreements with the SpringerNature, Oxford University Press, Wiley and Elsevier (ScienceDirect) allow for a specific number of articles per year to be published Open Access. The 2021 quotas for the above publishers, will be reached soon:
- Springer by late October
- OUP by late October
- Wiley by late October
- Elsevier: varies per institution, contact your institution’s library for further information
There remain alternative ways to make work open access:
- Submitting works to a disciplinary or institutional repository (IReL members’ libraries can advise on this)
- If your publication was a result of funding, you may be able to use part of that funding to pay an author processing charge.
